How Do I Find a Doctor?

Finding the right doctor you feel comfortable with, you trust and who meets your medical needs is worth the time and effort it takes. So, where do you start? First, your options will largely depend on whether or not you have insurance.

If you HAVE insurance

If you are covered by the Medicaid to 21 Program call the Foster Care Meds team for a list of doctors. If you already have a doctor you'd like to use, call the doctor's office to find out if they take DSHS Medicaid.

If you are covered under the Basic Health Program, go to the Basic Health website at www.basichealth.hca.wa.gov to find a provider.

If you DO NOT have insurance

Read Health Insurance - What I Need to Know to find out about insurance options you may be eligible for.
