Guest Speaker: Dashawn Patrick

Dashawn grew up in Seattle, Washington, spending 14 years in the Washington State foster care system. His passion for athletics and writing always eclipsed the perils of growing up in foster care. His goal was to be an example to other foster children to never let circumstances define their destiny. After graduating from high school, Dashawn was drafted by the Seattle Mariners.

Following a brief career as a professional baseball player, Dashawn enrolled at the University of Washington, majoring in Sociology. Among his accomplishments, Dashawn is most proud of graduating from the University of Washington.
